Saturday 27th October was a brilliant spring day for the St Stephens School Fair and the Black Pearl Network team made the most of the perfect weather to turn out for their fundraising stall for the fast approaching Australian Papuan Cultural Exchange Program (APCEP) 2019.
With the eleven selected students busy preparing for their demanding visit to Perth in February, March and April next year, the pressure is on their BPN hosts to come up with the funds to support them for the duration of the twelve week program. Kerry Povey and her wonderful family of supporters, Kim, Luke, Nerida, Rachel and Wayne were joined by Jan Thorpe and Lee-Anne Burnett behind the sale tables on the day.
Through the sale of craft items and nougat the stall raised a tidy sum in support of the project and all the volunteers had a great social day.
